Benefits of PDC Diaphragm Compressors

The unique design of our diaphragm compressors provides the user with an exceptional, cost-effective product that delivers significant operational benefits, including:

  • Versatile - Ideal for compressing gases at the pressures and purity needed for a wide range of applications.
  • High Product Purity - The unique process head design and construction materials do not contaminate the process gas.
  • High Reliability and Uptime - Customers have experienced continuous running times of 10,000 to 40,000 hours between routine maintenance minimizing the need for spare parts replacement.
  • Low Maintenance - Typically, only routine oil changes are necessary.
  • Safe - Non-flammable hydraulic fluid used for oxygen and other oxidizing gas applications.
  • Single and multiple stage configurations for high compression ratios.
  • Horizontally-Opposed Designs– Minimizes the required horsepower for cost effective long-term operation.
  • Modular Design - Modular field expandable designs that can be effected with minimal effort and cost for changing gas compression needs.
  • Turnkey Solutions - Including control systems design and configuration.
  • Quiet Operation - Extremely low noise level without the need for sound proofing enclosure
  • Quick delivery - Some popular models can be delivered in two weeks
  • Low Water Consumption – on-skid recalculating cooling systems are available for installations without a steady supply of water

Basic Compressor Description

The basic single-stage diaphragm compressor includes a static conductive, oil resistant V-belt drive system, non-sparking OSHA belt guard, electric motor with adjustable rail, welded steel framework, diaphragm failure leak detection system, after-cooler and inlet filter.

Two-stage compressor includes the above as well as an inter-stage gauge, inter-stage accumulator, inter-stage relief valve, inter-cooler and after-cooler.

Various models of basic triple diaphragm compressors

Tri-plex hydrogen compressor for E.I. DuPont. It is fully automated with automatic unloading, Allen Bradley operation interface controls. Diaphragm compressor meets Class 1, Division II, Group B,C,D of the US NEC Code

Instrumentation and Controls Description

A diaphragm compressor complete with instrumentation and controls includes the basic compressor, noted above, as well as a control panel, transformers, relays, motor starter, start-stop button, suction pressure switch, discharge safety pressure switches (low-Hi) and (Hi-Hi), suction and discharge pressure gauges, water flow indicator and switch, temperature indicators, auto-unloading, status pilot lights or annunciator panels, etc. PDC can supply a hard-wired relay logic control or fully programmed PLC system.

PDC diaphragm compressors can be provided with complete instrumentation for automatic or remote operation. Every system is supplied completely piped, wired, and fully tested before shipment.
