Solar Powered Hydrogen Fueling Station

Boeing Research & Technology designed and engineered an off grid solar-powered hydrogen refueling station for UAVs at Ocana airfield,Spain. A PDC hydrogen compressor, powered by CPV modules, is used as part of the refueling system to compress hydrogen up to 300 barg to maximize the endurance of UAVs".

700 bar high pressure hydrogen refueling station opens in Denmark

June 2011 through June 2015

The first 700 bar high pressure hydrogen refueling station opened in the city of Holstebro in Denmark using a PDC high pressure reciprocating diaphragm compressor. The station enables a fast and uniform refueling of hydrogen in less than three minutes. The high storage pressure provides fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEV) with a driving range comparable to conventional gasoline powered vehicles. The station is developed by H2 Logic A/S and operated by the energy company Vestforsyning A/S, with support from the Danish EUDP program.

The fuel cell refueling station uses water electrolysis to produce approximately 13 kg/day of hydrogen. The PDC hydrogen compressor is used to compress the hydrogen for storage. The station has 50 kg storage capacity at 6,000 psig and is used to dispense to 5,000 psi (350 bar) vehicles.

Converting sea water to hydrogen using a PDC hydrogen compressor

Used for a testing a concept. The project is to generate Hydrogen using a wind turbine and seawater. Presssure is boosted to 30 barg with PDC compressor. A commercial plant will be set up in the island of PNG using the results. Seawater that will be converted to Hydrogen. Drinking water will be made available to local public as a byproduct. Power and water will be available and a fuelcell fitted boat will be tested using the compressed Hydrogen.

PDC offers a PDC high pressure hydrogen compressor featuring up to 3000 Psi (21 MPa) suction and 6000 Psi (41 MPa) discharge pressures with a flow rate 74,640 SCFH (2000 Nm3 /hr). This high pressure compressor can fill a typical alternate fuel bus in approximately 10 minutes.
